Paint Protection Film

WHAT IS IT?

Paint Protection Film, or PPF, is a type of car paint protection which was originally developed to protect the exposed rotor blades of helicopters during the Vietnam war. “Helicopter tape” as it became known, has since been adapted to fit various civilian purposes, including in the automotive industry.

Whilst the environments faced by the average driver in the UK are somewhat less harsh than the hostile Vietnamese terrain, it is still important to protect your vehicle. Particularly those areas which are prone to damage from stone chips, insect splatters, and minor abrasions. Today’s paint protection films have been perfected to suit their modern use. A car’s body shape is far more complex than that of a rotor blade so thinner, more flexible and conformable films are used.

OUR MATERIALS

Our technicians use LLumar as standard but as always alternatives are available. We can source other films such as PremiumShield and SunTek if the customer prefers. For those interested in a stealth finish as well as protection, our matte PPF film will convert your vehicle’s original gloss finish to matte. We can also apply an additional protective ceramic coating on top of the paint protection film for added peace of mind.
